What is a Blood Type Diet

A Blood Type Diet is used for generating individualised dietary plans compatible with your blood group.

Your blood type diet is the restoration of your natural genetic rhythm. Your blood type diet works because you are able to follow a clear, logical, scientifically researched plan based on your cellular profile.

As a naturopath Khalid Noor Aldeen often incorporates the blood type diet into his patients dietary plans. It is a useful tool that can highlight foods that could be causing problems for a patient, the foods they are best genetically suited to eating, or to assist with weight loss.

One hallmark of naturopathic medicine is the recognition of the biochemical uniqueness of each individual and the need to tailor treatments and prescriptions to match that individual.

Blood type is a window to a person's probable susceptibility to; or power over disease.

Each food group is divided into three categories:

  • Highly beneficial foods - food that acts like Medicine,
  • Neutral foods - food that does no harm to the body and
  • Foods not allowed - food that act like a Poison.

Here is a brief outline of the main characteristics of each of the different blood types:

  • Blood Type O - Most suited to animal proteins and intense physical exercise like jogging. O's are better for avoiding or limiting dairy products and grains. O's tend to be susceptible to developing asthma, hay fever, and other allergies and arthritis.
  • Blood Type A - On the other hand are most suited to a vegetarian diet and fresh, organic foods. A's are best suited to calming exercise like yoga, and they are predisposed to heart disease, cancer, diabetes.
  • Blood Type B - Have a strong immune system, and tolerant digestive system, so they can eat most foods. They tend to resist many severe chronic degenerative illnesses, and are better suited to moderate physical exercise like cycling, and swimming.
  • Blood Type AB - Best suited to a combination of A and B. Type AB's tend to have the fewest problems with allergies, while heart disease, cancer, and anemia are medical risks for them.
